When we are children, we learn primarily through others. The vision of the world, ideas, opinions and beliefs of our parents and other adult relatives with whom we live almost become ours, in a necessary process for the development of the child's brain. Little by little, and naturally as we grow older, we begin to question all the knowledge we have received and to have our own ideas and beliefs about certain aspects of life. This is a habit that we must cultivate, as it will help us, as adults, to think for ourselves.

To think for oneself is to have our own ideas, beliefs and opinions and, in this way, to be able to design and live our life according to ourselves and our criteria, and not let ourselves be carried away by trends or pressures from others.
Although this does not imply that we do not accept opinions and beliefs of others when we make them our own, we will always be the ones who will govern our lives.
To achieve this, it is important to ask ourselves questions and question the beliefs received until then, to keep those that help us and discard the harmful ones. Try to answer your own questions yourself or find the answers yourself, without forgetting that because something appears in a book or on the Internet it does not have to be true, and you have the right to question them anyway.
Get out of your comfort zone
It is also important that we try to get out of our comfort zone, for which it may be necessary that we stop trying to please others or that we disagree with the opinions of others. Remember that this must be done with respect, since the other has the right to think for himself just like you, without trying to impose your criteria or let the other do it.
